Thought it'd be neat to have a simple "movie review" thread. Basically- Post what movie you've seen recently and what you thought of it! Try and keep things spoiler free for recent movies (like, released in the past few months recent).
For me, As of this post I just watched Wish Dragon over on netflix! It was surprisingly nice and sweet, the way everything was animated was quite fun and the humor was good. I adore how they animated the dragon itself, i wasn't a fan of his design at first but combined with how it moves its actually really neat and enjoyable to look at. Story was pretty basic and simple "wish granting" plotline. Some of the voice acting was ehh, but the main cast was good.

Last one I saw was "Paranorman", which is always a wonderful movie. Laika does amazing work.
In addition, "His House" was... a very odd movie and I lost concentration halfway through, but it definitely earned a laugh or two from Cryptid, who found it hysterical that I jumped and got spooked.
"Raya and the Last Dragon" was disappointing, but it was cute and had so much potential. The story was there, but it was so rushed; it was also a little too predictable for my taste. I enjoyed the animation, as well as listening to KoboldGhost and Cryptid complain and tear the animation style apart.
If you liked the art style of Frozen/Frozen 2, the story of Mulan and Moana, then this movie is definitely for you!!

Oh yeah I watched Raya and the Last dragon- such a shame since it is very nicely made but the story just feels so unbelievably rushed :( should've been multiple parts, really.

Ahh Laika I love their movies! I've never actually seen Paranorman which I should really fix lmao, I've seen most other Laika movies- Saw Kubo in the theatres which was very fun.

Ugh, Coraline is my absolute favorite Laika movie and my comfort movie, not gonna lie. Could watch that any day of the week.
Raya was so disappointing but had so much potential. I hope they don't tag along a sequel, but if they do, I hope they make it like Frozen 2 and make it better than the first. ;w;

Gonna write up what I rewatched recently again- Watership down! Watched it with a friend who had never seen it before and they loved it. I adore old animated movies, the watercolor backgrounds are just absolutely gorgeous and i'm so sad that this is something that's missing from modern movies. that little charm that being able to tell that something was drawn traditionally and look so incredibly fitting is my favourite thing.
I had seen the netflix adaptation before and honestly I still prefer the original movie. The only scene I can say that the netflix adaptation did well was the rabbit cult scene- in the netflix version there was a bit more focus on fiver's vision in there and it was really cool.
