What is scouting?

Scouting is an activity where you can collect rewards 5 times a day from various locations. However, locations have to be unlocked and leveled for their better rewards. The community as a whole will collectively work to unlock and upgrade these locations.  Entries cannot fail. Scouting can be represented as your character searching through an area. They do not need to have any items present. You can scount in area you like, however know that the loot pool for this prompt is used for all entries, and not specific to that region. Additionally, if you scout in an area that is locked your points will go towards unlocking that location. Loot granted in this prompt will include all unlocked regions with the exception of the Farm Lands. When a new region is unlocked, that regions items are entered into the pool.

You can go here to scout, and here to read more about the different locations.

This prompt is ONLY for unlocking and upgrading locations and requires an art ot literature piece. The Aether's guard boon is not allowed to be used in this activity. Scouting progress will never reset. When an area upgrades, the bonuses take into affect.

  • Level 1: Costs 80 Moon Gems and 4 Stamina. Returns 1 Item.
  • Level 2: Costs 40 Moon Gems and 3 Stamina. Returns 2 Items.
  • Level 3: Costs 20 Moon Gems and 2 Stamina. Returns 3 Items.
  • Level 4: Costs 10 Moon Gems and 1 Stamina. Returns 4 Items.

Only Farm lands cannot be upgraded.

Points and loot are granted per character. An entry with four characters will gain four points, while an entry with 1 character will only earn 1.

Prompts

Scouting can be depicted as your character exploring the region that they are. They can be looking for someone, something, or simply exploring in generally. This leaves a lot of free reign for what you decide to depict in your artwork or literature. A few examples include:

  • Your character is exploring this region, and they come across a cave or other interesting location
  • Your character is scoping out a new den/nest/home location and they encounter an enemy or rival.
  • They have been tasked with retrieving an item for another character (real or npc).

By nature, some of these prompts may appear like expeditions, and this is ok! So long as your character is exploring the region in some fashion, then the entry will pass.

Different pets also can effect your results in expeditions. The following pets can be active in expeditions.
Hunting
  • Highborn Urses - Increases the chance of passing.
  • Snow Leopard - Increases the Chance of bringing back rarer items.
  • Vulture - Brings back an extra item.
  • Fox - Increases CE by +2 for being depicted in hunting. Only counts for the character who carries it, does not have to be present in image/literature.
  • Boar - Increases Defense, loweing the chances of your dragon being harmed.
Fishing
  • Reticulated Crocodile- Increases the chance of passing.
  • Eel - Increases the Chance of bringing back rarer items.
  • Draco Otter - Brings back an extra item.

The following skills and modifiers apply to dragons should they have earned or unlocked it.

  • Adept - Increases the success rate in a chosen assigned region (i.e. Adept Frigid gives you bonus in the frigid empire region).
  • Hoarder - chance to bring back an extra item.
  • Trial of Spirit - Decreases the injury chance. Stacks with Temper.
  • Trial of Morality - Taming Bonus - Decrease the injury chance. Stacks with temper.

Tempers
Aditionally, Tempers play a part in the buffs or debuffs your dragon receives.
    • Vigilant - Decreased chance of injury. Bonus items in Frigid and Gloom regions.
    • Aggressive - Increased chance of injury. Bonus items in Scorched and Shimmering regions.
    • Calm - Decreased chance of injury. Bonus items in Aether and Radiant regions.
    • Sinister - Increased chance of injury. Bonus items in all regions.

Aberrant Status
    • A dragon who is aberrant has an increased chance of taking damage with the percentage effecting how often or how much they will be injured by. 100% aberrant dragons have a higher chance, and take more damage, than a 25% aberrant dragon.
