The Scorched Wastes is home to the Scorched Empire. It is a barren desert that is well known for its intense hot weather and brutish laws. Canyons and deep caves fill this land, with its main water sources being oasis and small streams.
Capital: The Unending Oasis
Leader: Jorlun
A cruel and harsh empire, the scorched empire is a mass of deserts connected together. Few patches of land grow grass, and small dotted oasis litter the world around it. Many civilizations in this empire choose to live underground, finding cave systems less harsh. The native dragon species to this world are the formidable Drakes. Great lumbering beasts who cannot take flight, but are able to traverse the sands quickly. However this land is not a complete a wasteland. The oasis in this empire grow special fruit trees not found in other empires, and hardy spices can be found as well. Other exports include glass, minerals, crystals, and oil. They are the main manufacturer of weapons. While not the most rich empire, the scorched empire is surely not the worse off.
The empire is ruled by Jorlun, a man with an iron fist and a tyrant rule of his empire. Jorlun is often seen as a mad man, experimenting with oil as a power source over steam. However he is not a scientist, and has gotten no where. His empire is aggressive against the others, but rarely truly goes to war, only threats and nothing more. Jorlun's has had many dragons at his side, but the current is Ulvuren, a large drake with a rather infamous history in the arenas. The scorched empire is a home of elementalists, and most other magic types are shunned and rejected. Those of no magic ability are the most discriminated. Because of the large expanses between each of the cities and villages, the scorched empire has a high crime rate, with little done as most cases are not found or often unsolvable. Littered among the bones of the ancient dragons past lay those who fell to murder, exile, or the harsh nature of this empire.

It is a bustling city with little technology, adobe built homes and shops shelter those from the heat and the danger of the sand storms. Stand storms are prevalent in the scorched empire, filled with lightning and radiation they can kill those who do not seek shelter.
